The legendary McCrae’s Battalion was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame at Hampden Park last night.
The prestigious honour was bestowed upon the World War One heroes at a glittering ceremony at the National Stadium in Glasgow.
The timing of the award is significant with this year marking the centenary of the formation of the battalion named after its charismatic colonel, Sir George McCrae.
Also inducted at the dinner were Bill Brown (Dundee and Tottenham Hotspur), Peter Lorimer (Leeds United), Charlie Nicholas (Celtic, Arsenal, Aberdeen and Clyde) and Davie Wilson (Rangers, Dundee United, Dumbarton and Kilmarnock).
The Hall of Fame, situated in the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden, honours individuals who have made a significant contribution to Scottish football.
