Match Preview: Hibs (A)

1st February 2022

It's derby day in Scotland's capital: Hearts head to Easter Road for the first derby in Leith for almost two years. The Jam Tarts are twelve points clear of fifth-placed Hibs in third, and are looking to extend the gap even further tonight.

Form Guide:

The Hearts are flying at the moment: everyone around Gorgie this season has been loving life - as Robbie Neilson's boys stormed up the Premiership table this season, picking up key wins around the country. Hearts have lost just once in their last five matches and haven't tasted defeat at Easter Road for nearly four years.

It's a different story on the other side of the city; after the departure of Jack Ross, former Scotland midfielder Shaun Maloney was appointed to the dug-out. Tasked with rejuvenating Hibs, it's been a challenging transition period for the new manager. Hibs have won just two of their last five - including a 2-3 defeat to Livingston at Easter Road last week.

The two sides last met each other in the league in October 2021; a 0-0 draw at Tynecastle Park saw both sides forced to settle for a point.
