Heart of Midlothian FC is delighted to announce the visit of English Premier League champions Manchester City for a specially-arranged commemorative match on Friday, July 18 (kick-off 7.30pm).
The game against Manuel Pellegrini's side is being staged to celebrate the centenary of the Tynecastle Main Stand and will see a mouth-watering mix of some of The Blues' established international stars and first-team squad regulars descend on Gorgie for what promises to be a memorable occasion.
The eagerly-anticipated meeting with City will be the first one at Tynecastle Stadium under the new ownership of Ann Budge, while it will also be head coach Robbie Neilson's first home match in charge.
Fans will also have their first chance to see the likes of new signings Soufian El Hassnaoui, James Keatings and Morgaro Gomis in action at Tynecastle, while the Hearts players will be wearing the historic new home strip for the first time, the kit having been dedicated to the team which signed up for the war effort 100 years ago.
Special discounts will be available to season ticket holders, with adults costing just £20 (concessions £10). Non-season ticket holders will be charged £25 (£15 concessions). Fans should note that on the day of the game, the higher prices will be charged, regardless of supporters' status.
There will be an exclusive buying period for season ticket holders - both current and last season - from 9am Friday, June 20 until 9am Thursday, June 26 - after which point a general sale will commence.
Please note the club cannot guarantee season ticket holders their own seat due to the ongoing season ticket sales process, however, we will strive to meet as many requests as possible.
4 Loyalty Points will be allocated to Hearts fans buying a ticket for the game.
A Hearts spokesperson said: "We are proud to announce that we will be playing English Premier League champions Manchester City at Tynecastle on July 18.
"The Main Stand, which is an iconic landmark in British football, celebrates its centenary this year and what better way to mark the milestone than with a glamour friendly against one of the world's top club sides?
"City will be bringing a strong squad to Edinburgh, with the likes of French internationalists Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, Serbian star Aleksandar Kolarov and Spain's Alvaro Negredo all scheduled to make the trip.
"While recognising the past, the match will also see Hearts welcome the future.
"The game will be the first one at Tynecastle under new ownership, it will be head coach Robbie Neilson's first home game in charge, while the team will be wearing the stunning new home kit for the first time.
"It promises to be a tremendous occasion under the floodlights and hopefully as many fans as possible can make it along for a very special night."
Manchester City CEO, Ferran Soriano, added: "Manchester City are honoured to join with Heart of Midlothian FC as they celebrate the centenary of their main stand at Tynecastle Stadium.
"Pre-season games are very important for the team's training, but also give a special opportunity to bring City closer to fans wherever they are in the world.
"Edinburgh shares with Manchester a tradition of great footballing rivalry and we look forward to seeing the fans' passion first hand."
