Loan Watch

19th November 2018

International football and cup competitions meant that only four of Hearts’ loanees were in action this weekend.

Irving’s Falkirk held at home

Andy Irving made his 15th appearance for Falkirk on Saturday as they were held at home by fellow Championship strugglers Partick Thistle.

The 18-year-old played the full 90 minutes as the Bairns quickly cancelled out Craig Slater’s second-half opener through Joe McKee’s strike.

Falkirk sit bottom of the Championship on eight points, two behind 11th placed Partick.

Moore points on the board for Forfar

Lewis Moore’s Forfar Athletic bounced back from last week’s defeat at Brechin City with a comprehensive win over Dumbarton.

A second-half goal blitz at Station Park saw Forfar triumph 3-0 against last season’s Championship side Dumbarton, with Moore setting up the second.

Forfar sit fourth in League One, one point behind third-placed East Fife, which leads us nicely on to…

Rory’s return

Rory Currie made his first East Fife appearance in around a month after recovering from injury.

The striker – who has bagged five goals in 12 appearances – came on as a 78th minute sub but couldn’t inspire The Fife to a comeback as they went down 4-2 away to Airdrieonians.

Cup heartache for Dario

Things seemed to be going swimmingly for Dario Zanatta’s Alloa Athletic when they went 2-0 up inside 12 minutes at Edinburgh City, with the Canadian scoring the opener.

A place in the Irn-Bru Cup semi-finals was at stake and the League Two side produced a stunning comeback against their Championship counterparts, bringing it back to 2-2 before triumphing 4-3 on penalties.

Meanwhile, Kevin Silva and Euan Henderson were unused subs for Raith Rovers and Montrose respectively.
