Loan round up

7th August 2017

Find out how Hearts' loanees got on this weekend.

Hearts’ young loan stars continue to impress in the lower leagues, with three of them bagging goals at the weekend.

Andrew Irving got Berwick Rangers’ season off to a flier with a brace against much-fancied Clyde at Shielfield Park as the Black and Golds ran out 3-1 winners.

In the battle of the Wee Jambos it was Callumn Morrison’s Stirling Albion who came out on top against Harry Paton’s Stenhousemuir, winning 3-2 at Ochilview. Paton opened the game’s scoring in the 21st minute, while Morrison made it 2-2 in the second half.

Ally Roy’s Dumbarton were held at home by Greenock Morton in their opening Championship game of the season. The on-loan striker went close to breaking the deadlock in the first-half but the game played out a stalemate.

Niko Todorov was a late substitute in Livingston’s 1-1 draw with Dunfermline. The Lions were denied all three points when the Pars’ Sean Murdoch made an 85th minute penalty save.
