Andrew Irving got Berwick Rangers’ season off to a flier with a brace against much-fancied Clyde at Shielfield Park as the Black and Golds ran out 3-1 winners.
In the battle of the Wee Jambos it was Callumn Morrison’s Stirling Albion who came out on top against Harry Paton’s Stenhousemuir, winning 3-2 at Ochilview. Paton opened the game’s scoring in the 21st minute, while Morrison made it 2-2 in the second half.
Ally Roy’s Dumbarton were held at home by Greenock Morton in their opening Championship game of the season. The on-loan striker went close to breaking the deadlock in the first-half but the game played out a stalemate.
