Lafferty Appeal

9th January 2018

Kyle Lafferty’s appeal against the red card shown to him in Hearts’ 0-0 draw away to Aberdeen in December has been dismissed

Kyle Lafferty’s appeal against the red card shown to him in Hearts’ 0-0 draw away to Aberdeen in December has been dismissed.

Lafferty attended a hearing at Hampden this morning, where it was decided that the original suspension will be applied.

Lafferty was shown a straight red by referee John Beaton at Pittodrie in the final Ladbrokes Premiership game of 2017, and the decision of the appeal now means that he will miss the club’s next two first-team matches after already reaching the threshold for bookings.
