Kevin out for six weeks

24th November 2014

Relief for manager as scan shows full-back's injury not as bad as initially feared.

Hearts defender Kevin McHattie will be out for six weeks with the knee injury suffered against Rangers.

The left-back was crocked in a challenge by Kenny Miller during the Jambos’ stirring 2-0 triumph at Tynecastle, with scans showing he has strained his medial ligament.

The news is better than head coach Robbie Neilson feared, with the gaffer saying: “It is not good news but it is better than we had feared.

“We knew it was quite a bad one.

“No surgery is required, though, with rest being needed.

“He will be in a brace to begin with and will be missing for six weeks.”
