Kevin McHattie believes team spirit is already at a high despite only being a week into pre-season.
The Jambos are currently spending a few days training in Chester, in between friendly matches against Ludogorets Razgrad and Dinamo Bucuresti in Leigh, and the Scotland U21 cap thinks everyone is already pulling in the right direction.
Speaking to HeartsTV after last night's defeat to Ludogorets, Kevin said: "It was definitely great to see some of my new team-mates in action. We're bonding well with the new boys who have come in. It's a real strong squad we've got.
"Robbie's been great as head coach. He's straight to the point with things, with the way he wants to play. Since day one he's come in and set us up in the shape that he wants to play and it's great to see that.
Kevin was a second-half substitute in last night's friendly and despite going down 2-0 to the Bulgarian champions, he knows that fitness is the name of the game at this point of the season.
"It's all about the fitness and getting back to match sharpness," he said. "We thought we done well in the first half. We kept the ball well and obviously with changing the team at half time it affects the game.
"They pressed us more in the second half and they've got their chances and scored their goals."
Kevin's interview is available to watch in full on HeartsTV.
