Keena makes Ireland U21 debut

14th November 2019

Aidan Keena won his first cap for Ireland U21s this afternoon.

The Jambos’ striker made an 86th minute substitute appearance in Ireland’s 1-0 win away to Armenia in what was his debut at international U21 level.

Waterford’s Zack Elbouzedi’s goal just after the hour mark was enough to clinch the victory for Stephen Kenny’s side, which keeps Ireland top of their Euro 2021 qualifying group, four points ahead of second-placed Iceland.

Aidan could win his second cap on Tuesday when Ireland host Sweden at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin.
