Jimmy called up to Ireland squad

6th November 2018

Jimmy Dunne has been named in Republic of Ireland’s provisional squad for their upcoming matches.

Martin O’Neill has called up the defender to the senior squad for the first time after a string of impressive performances in a maroon shirt.

21-year-old Jimmy has been an ever present for the Jambos since joining on loan from Burnley in August, making 12 appearances and scoring two goals.

The centre-half has been capped at U21 level for Ireland and will now be hoping to make the final cut for the senior squad, which is announced on November 12.

Hearts goalkeeper Colin Doyle has also been named in the provisional squad.

Ireland face Northern Ireland in a friendly match in Dublin on November 15, before travelling to Denmark for a UEFA Nations League game four days later.
