Jake Mulraney knew what was in store when he signed a two-year deal with Hearts last month, after a pep talk from Jambos legend John Robertson.
Robbo – manager of Jake’s old club Inverness Caledonian Thistle – gave the 22-year-old a chat on all things maroon and, after also consulting with former Hearts defender Brad McKay, the Dublin-born winger was left in no doubt that Tynecastle was the place to further his career.
Speaking to HeartsTV, Jake said: “Yeah definitely, when I knew the club was interested it was an easy decision to make.
“Knowing how big the club was and having people that were previously here speaking to me about it as well, it was quite easy for me.
“Robbo pulled me in when there was interest and he just explained to me about the club, the fans, the facilities, the gaffer…everything.
“He basically bigged up the club and it made the decision even easier.
“I was speaking to Brad about the area because his mum only lives five minutes from me!
“I was speaking to him about what the area is like, so he had good things to say as well.”
