Jack moves to Methil

Goalkeeper Jack Hamilton moves on loan to Scottish League One side East Fife.

Heart of Midlothian can today confirm that Jack Hamilton has signed a short-term loan deal with East Fife.

The big goalkeeper, who has been capped at Scotland U19 level and included in Scotland U21 squads, will join Gary Naysmith's side until the end of their season, though will return to Tynecastle to participate in the U20s' SFA Youth Cup semi-final against Kilmarnock on April 12.

Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, manager Gary Locke said: "Jack's joined East Fife to get a run of first team games - something he probably wouldn't have got here at Hearts for the time being with Jamie MacDonald and Mark Ridgers being fully fit.

"He got a taste of first team football last season at Forfar Athletic and he wants more. I've discussed it in-depth with Alan Combe and we both feel that Jack will benefit much more from playing competitive, first team football as opposed to U20 level.

"That said, he will be coming back to play in the SFA Youth Cup and the option is there to recall him fully at any time.

"It's a brilliant opportunity for Jack and we hope he does well there."
