Jack Ross believes he’s seen enough in the U20s’ first two games of the season to know that the club is right on track in terms of developing young talent for the first team.
The Wee Jambos followed up their season-opening 2-2 draw at Rangers with a stalemate at home to Kilmarnock on Monday night.
Player Development Manager Jack thinks some of his young stars are beginning to shine, which bodes well for the future.
“It’s been an encouraging start in terms of the two performances,” he said. “Last season was difficult at times and there’ll be occasions when we’ll find it difficult again, but last year was a lot about individual development and that will continue to be the case.
“Monday night was a reasonably entertaining game and individually we had several good performances.
“The likes of Liam Smith, Sean McKirdy and Dario Zanatta have all started well and you can see the improvement in them.
“Liam Smith in particular has added more of an aggressive, albeit measured, side to his game and he’s taken our advice on board. He’s kicked on and it’s brilliant to see such an improvement in him.”
