Andrew Irving has been permanently recalled from his loan spell at Berwick Rangers, with Alex Petkov going the other way.
17-year-old Andrew made the journey to Spain with the first-team squad for last week’s winter training camp. He played in both friendly matches and scored the equalising goal against Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
He now returns to Tynecastle to complete the second half of the season.
Bulgarian Petkov made his first-team debut for Hearts earlier in the season, coming on half-time in the Jambos’ 3-0 Betfred Cup victory over East Fife.
He moves to Shielfield Park for the remainder of the season on a development loan, meaning he can still feature for Hearts’ U20s side.
