International Round-Up

11th October 2019

Michael Smith was the only Hearts player in action last night but it is expected to be a slightly busier weekend.

The right-back started in Rotterdam as Northern Ireland lost 3-1 to the Netherlands, with Mick playing the full 90 minutes and in doing so, earning his 7th cap.

Michael O'Neill's side took the lead through Josh Magennis, and eleven minutes from the end they were still 1-0 up. However, quickfire goals from Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong gave the Oranje the win.

Meanwhile, Chris Hamilton was an unused substitute for Scotland under-19s on Wednesday night, as Billy Stark's side drew 2-2 with Belarus. He will be in the squad, alongside Aaron Hickey, when they face Andorra on Saturday 12th and Germany on Tuesday 15th.

Alex Petkov could add to his six under-21 caps for Bulgaria as they play Serbia this evening. The defender, currently on loan at Clyde, could also face Latvia on the Tuesday 15th.

Finally, Ryotaro Meshino is in Brazil with the Japanese under-22 side, where they face the Seleção on Monday 14th.
