International round-up

27th March 2017

Several Hearts stars have been representing their countries this past week, here's how they got on.

Several Hearts players were involved in this past weekend’s international matches.

Arnaud Djoum started in Cameroon’s 1-0 friendly win over Tunisia on Friday, playing 63 minutes. The Africa Cup of Nations winners are back in action tomorrow evening when they take on Guinea tomorrow.

Alex Tziolis was a second-half sub in Greece’s respectable 1-1 draw away to Belgium on Saturday. The midfielder entered the fray after 63 minutes, with a point keeping the Greeks second in their World Cup qualifying group.

Faycal Rherras was an unused sub in Morocco’s 2-0 friendly win over Burkina Faso on Friday. Morocco will play Tunisia on Tuesday in another friendly.

Centre-half Aaron Hughes didn’t make the squad for Northern Ireland’s win over Norway yesterday. The 2-0 victory sees Michael O’Neill’s side continue their fine form as they sit second in their World Cup qualifying group.

There were mixed fortunes for two Hearts players involved in the same fixture last night. Jack Hamilton was on the subs bench for Scotland’s 1-0 win over Slovenia, while Andraz Struna was also named among the substitutes for his country. Slovenia move down a place to third in Group F, while Scotland move up one to fourth.

Liam Smith’s Scotland U21s are in action tomorrow night when they host Estonia in a friendly. The game kicks-off at 7.30pm at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.
