Aaron Hughes and Michael Smith have been called up to the Northern Ireland squad.
The Hearts duo have been named in manager Michael O’Neill’s pool of players for their upcoming European Championship Qualifying double header.
Northern Ireland, who are assisted by Hearts’ assistant manager Austin MacPhee, have enjoyed a winning start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign and top Group C – ahead of Germany and Netherlands – after beating Estonia and Belarus in their opening matches.
They face Estonia in Tallinn on June 8th before taking on Belaurs in Borisov three days later.
Hughes is Northern Ireland’s most capped outfield player – and Britain’s most capped defender – with 110 appearances, while Smith has recently established himself in the side and has four caps to his name.
