Hearts duo Aaron Hughes and Kyle Lafferty have been called up to the Northern Ireland squad.
The pair will join up with Michael O’Neill’s side for their World Cup qualifying double-header against Germany and Norway, safe in the knowledge that they have already secured second spot in the group and with it, a potential play-off place.
Northern Ireland host Germany at Windsor Park on October 5th before heading to Oslo to take on Norway three days later.
Hughes can break the record for the most capped British defender of all time with an appearance in either game. He won his 108th cap in the 2-0 win over Czech republic earlier in the month, equaling England legend Bobby Moore’s achievement.
Lafferty will be hoping to add to his 58 caps, which has seen him bag 20 goals.
