Ben Garuccio can’t wait for this evening’s match against Cowdenbeath so he can experience running out at Tynecastle for the first time.
The Jambos return to Gorgie for competitive action in tonight’s Betfred Cup encounter, and after taking in his new surroundings for the first time during yesterday’s training session at the stadium, the Australian is looking forward to playing under the famous Tynecastle floodlights.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: “Obviously we’ve done a fair bit of travelling this pre-season.
“It’s been good and we’ve had our challenges; we’ve played away and we’ve dealt with that so it’s nice to get back here tonight.
“It was our first time training at the stadium yesterday and it was really good and enjoyable for the boys.
“We’re looking forward to playing in front of our fans for the first time.”
With the club docked two points following yesterday’s SPFL disciplinary hearing, Craig Levein’s side must win their remaining two games to be in with a shout of topping the group.
Ben insists nothing has changed for the players, as their mindset was always to win every game they play in.
“For us it’s the same because we were going out to win every game anyway,” he said. “Maybe it just puts a bit more emphasis on that; that we need to win every game now but for us it’s the same way we go about things.
“We’re a big club and we want to win every game in this cup.
“We’re unbeaten and we just need to go into these next two games at home really confident and get the three points in both games.
“We’ve got our game plan and we go out to win the game, that’s all it is.”
