Hibs ticket update

2nd February 2017

Only a few hundred tickets remain.

Only a few hundred tickets are now left for the William Hill Scottish Cup 5th round tie against Hibs on Sunday, February 12th.

The club would urge all season ticket holders who intend to buy tickets to do so at their earliest convenience.

How to buy tickets

In order to be as fair as possible to all supporters and in an effort to accommodate all of the club’s season ticket holders there will be no reserved seating and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  This is to allow for the fact that circa 1300 Season ticket holders from the Roseburn Stand will be displaced, because of Scottish Cup Rule 36, which states that the visiting club has the right to claim up to 20% of the capacity of the stadium.

Additionally, were we not to do this, the makeup of our season ticket sales in the other 3 “traditional” home stands, would mean that only single seats and the occasional pair of tickets would be available to our displaced Roseburn Stand Season ticket holders.

Last season, we operated the same allocation system and we received a number of letters and e-mails of complaint.  We have taken on board all of the complaints fed back to us at that time. However, despite very careful consideration, we still believe this is the fairest approach.

Some long-standing season ticket holders felt it was unfair that season ticket holders in the Roseburn Stand could buy “their seats”. However we have to point out again that not all Roseburn Stand season ticket holders are “new”. A large number moved their seats and have been season ticket holders for some time. It is, therefore, felt to be inappropriate to give priority to season ticket holders in other stands.

We have to remind everyone that buying a season ticket entitles you to use that seat for all league games and gives you priority to buy a ticket for a major game. However, it does not guarantee first call on “your seat”. This is simply impossible if we are not to single out any specific group for preferential treatment. Hopefully this will cease to be a problem when the new Main Stand opens. However, we can do nothing to address this until we have increased capacity.

We have taken into account the feedback we received relating to the requirements of our ambulant/disabled season ticket holders. In many such cases, only certain seats are suitable, given their particular problems. We are therefore, allowing them to book their seats in advance.

Arrangements for the sale of tickets are therefore as follows -

  • Ambulant and carer season ticket holders can purchase a ticket by calling 0333 043 1874, option 1 then 8 from 12 noon on Tuesday 31st January, or in person at Hearts Ticket Centre from 12 noon to 5pm on Tuesday 31st January.
  • Season ticket holders will have from 9am Wednesday 1st February to close of business on Saturday 4th February to purchase a ticket – one per account and subject to availability – for the match. Please see below for timings.
  • Subject to ticket availability , there may then be a further sales period for non-season ticket holders who purchased tickets for the 4th Round Cup against Raith Rovers, home or away. They will have from 9am – 5pm Monday 6th February to do so.
  • A further statement regarding a possible general sale of any remaining tickets will then be made.
