Hearts Women suffered a 6-0 defeat to Hibernian in Sunday's Edinburgh Derby.
The game got off to the worst possible start when ‘keeper Charlotte Parker-Smith spilled the ball after a header from Joelle Murray, and Ellis Notley buried the chance within three minutes of kick-off.
Hearts made attempts to get back into the game but it was Hibs who continued to threaten with Notley again coming close with a header, and Rachel Boyle drawing a save from Parker-Smith.
Hibs then added their second when Collette Cavanagh slipped the ball across the area for Amy Gallacher, who placed the ball into the net from 10 yards out. Gallacher added her second, and Hibs’ third just before the break when she dribbled into the area far too easily and slotted home.
Cavanagh then hit the post for the hosts as Hearts struggled to make an impact. Andy Kirk made three changes at the break but the plans were up in smoke within 30 seconds as Carla Boyce converted a cross from the right to make it four.
Three minutes later, Gallacher scored again from close range to complete her hat-trick with a right-footed strike following a cutback from Kirsty Morrison, and the defeat got worse for Hearts when Mariel Kaney tripped Gallacher in the area allowing Boyle to score from the spot.
Hearts' Monica Forsyth drew a fine save from Emily Mutch after a long-range effort but that was close as they would get on a disappointing afternoon.
