Hearts Women Sign Ellis Dalgliesh

16th January 2020

Hearts Women are delighted to announce the signing of Ellis Dalgliesh from Rangers Women.

Ellis boasts a wealth of experience despite being only 20-years of age and has made regular appearances for the Scotland Women’s Under 19’s squad.

Coming through the youth ranks at Celtic before joining the senior side, Ellis then made the move to Durham before signing for Rangers Women last season.

The defender is the second addition to the squad ahead of the 2020 season.  Speaking on the move to Hearts Women, Ellis said:

“I received a call from Kevin [Murphy, Women and Girls’ Football Manager] and after hearing where he wanted to take the club and his ambitions for the women and girls’ game, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

“I think I’ve settled well into the team; all the girls are in working hard and want to achieve the same goals. There’s a buzz around the team at the moment and it’s good to be a part of that.

“I’m hoping I can help the team make a massive impact in SWPL1, I’ve played in the league for around 5 years now and know what it takes to play in the top flight. I’m hoping my experience will help the younger players in the team come through and show what they can do!”
