Hearts Women lifted the SWPL 2 title in front of a record home crowd at Tynecastle Park on Sunday afternoon.
A 3-0 win over Partick Thistle sealed the Championship for Andy Enwood's team, who thereby secured promotion to SWPL 1 to cap off a memorable season.
Goals from Rachel Walkingshaw and a Danni McGinley brace sealed a 3-0 victory over Partick Thistle and enabled the Jambos to pip Hamilton Academical to the title in front of a 1,045 strong crowd in Gorgie.
Speaking after the match, Captain Danni Pagliarulo was understandably thrilled with the team's magnificent achivement:
"It's an unreal feeling. I've actually been dreaming about this day for the whole season, it's unreal.
"There were nerves before the game, because we knew we needed at least a point to get the job done. Playing at Tynecastle also added to the occasion but i'm so proud of the girls today.
"I've been here for three years and have experienced so many highs and lows, but this season the girls have grown so much and today has just highlighted that."
Head Coach Andy Enwood said:
"I keep saying it to everyone who asks, three years ago we had to start over with a new team. Since then we've kept a group of players and we've stuck together. There's been some highs and lows but we've worked together to improve and look what we've now achieved. It's fantastic to be here today in front of all these fans at Tynecastle."
