Hearts were defeated by Glasgow City despite some resolute defending and outstanding goalkeeping.
The reigning SWPL1 champions scored twice in each half to earn their 11th win in 12 matches against the Jambos.
The visitors started brightly and were two up within 10 minutes. Leanne Crichton volleyed an effort at goal that was well stopped by Ailey Tebbett, but Priscila Chinchilla reacted first to bury the rebound.
Three minutes later, the lead was doubled. Full back Cailin Michie cut inside off the right flank and curled a lovely effort into the top corner on her left foot. The league leaders could have extended their lead further but the outstanding Tebbett denied Lauren Davidson and Chinchilla, with the Costa Rican also striking woodwork from distance.
Aoife Colvill also hit the crossbar for City into the second half, and sub Nicole Robertson drew three fine stops from Tebbett, who was then forced off after preventing a goal at a corner with a separated shoulder.
Her replacement Charlotte Parker-Smith made good stops immediately from Robertson and Jo Love, before Joanna Molin cross evaded everyone and nestled into the corner. Moments later, Love tapped home from close range to make it four which was probably merited on the run of play, but cruel for Hearts who had defended with great discipline and structure.
It was almost five with ten minutes to play after Chinchilla was tripped in the area, and she stepped up to take the penalty but Parker-Smith made a stunning save down to her left to deny her, before two more brilliant stops to deny Robertson and Chinchilla once more.
Next up for Hearts is the Edinburgh derby against Hibs, with the Jambos looking to add to the dramatic win they earned over their rivals earlier in the season.
