Hearts stars on international duty

25th March 2016

More national recognition for club's young stars.

Five Hearts players were on international duty last night as Scotland U21s lost out to France in a European Championship Qualifier.

The national babes went down 2-0 in Angers thanks to a Sebastien Haller brace, with goalkeeper Jack Hamilton turning in a man-of-the-match performance.

Jordan McGhee captained Ricky Sbragia’s side and was joined on the pitch by his teammates John Souttar and Sam Nicholson, as well as Billy King, currently on loan at Rangers.

The young Scots are back in action on Tuesday when they host Northern Ireland at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Meanwhile, Hearts U20s defender Daniel Baur is part of the Scotland U17s squad that heads to Czech Republic this week for three UEFA Elite Round matches, where they’ll face Demnark, host nation the Czechs and Switzerland.

Rounding off the Jambos’ international week is Dario Zanatta, who has been called up by Canada U20s. The Canucks play England in friendly match on Sunday at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium.
