Hearts appoint Austin MacPhee as Assistant Head Coach

Austin MacPhee signs three-and-a-half-year deal with the Jambos.

Heart of Midlothian FC have today appointed Austin MacPhee as the club’s new Assistant Head Coach.

The 37-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club and will take his place in the dugout alongside Head Coach Ian Cathro for Saturday’s visit to Ibrox.

Austin has spent the last two-and-half-years working as Assistant Coach for Northern Ireland and was part of the backroom staff that helped guide the team to the knock-out stages of last summer’s European Championships.

He has previously undertaken Assistant roles at both Cowdenbeath and St Mirren and helped the latter to Scottish League Cup victory in 2013.

Austin will continue to fulfill his role as Assistant Coach of Northern Ireland.
