The club is delighted to top the 2015 Sport Social Media Index in Scotland – an award delivered by William Hill and Umph (One of the UK’s leading digital agencies).
The Index is an annual league table of all 148 British professional football, rugby and cricket teams, ranked according to the best use of social media on their official club channels.
Last year, St Johnstone topped the table, with a score of 63.86. This time round Hearts sit top of the table for SPFL clubs and we are now the only Scottish club to score above 70 points. The full table can be viewed below.
We also ranked 10th overall in the UK out of 148 professional sports clubs. Those organisations include 104 other professional football clubs (Barclays Premiership, English Championship and English Div 1 and 2 as well as the Scottish Premiership),
the 18 county cricket sides and 26 professional rugby (Premiership and Rugby League Super League) teams.
The annual index is compiled, not just on an algorithm, but based on research from a team of seven people who looked at eight social networks. The data was analysed by a panel of three judges who presided over the final result.
We thank you all for engaging with us across our social media channels and look forward to building on this success over the course of 2016.
