New arrival Peter Haring has revealed he’s looking forward to the challenge of staking a claim for a place in the Hearts first team.
The 25-year-old defender has signed a two-year deal at Tynecastle, arriving from his native Austria following the expiration of his contract at SV Ried.
Peter knows he must impress manager Craig Levein to get ahead of Christophe Berra, John Souttar and Aaron Hughes in the top team queue, but it’s a challenge he’s ready for and hopes his style of play will impress the fans.
Speaking to HeartsTV, he said: “I knew about it (the competition for places) before but it’s a big chance for me to play for such a big club.
“I have no problem with the competition.
“I try to play football, I don’t want to lose the ball too quickly.
“I try to be dangerous at free-kicks and corner-kicks. I also try to score some goals sometimes!”
Peter’s interview is available to watch in full on HeartsTV.
