Craig Levein believes Hearts will have to be at their best to win on Saturday because he feels Partick Thistle are in a false position.
The Jags, who finished in the top six last season, currently sit 11th in the Ladbrokes Premiership table and host the Jambos at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill this weekend.
Craig revealed he’s done his homework on Thistle and has praised his own side’s workrate and effort in preparing for this game.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Craig said: “I’ve watched a lot of their games. They are playing much better than their results would indicate.
“I’m sure Archie will be looking at it and saying ‘keep going lads, we’ll turn it around if we keep doing what we’re doing,’ and I believe that will be the case.
“You don’t go from being a top six team to a bottom end of the table team overnight. That doesn’t happen.
“They are much better than their points would indicate, so that means we have to be much better than sometimes people think we have to be in these matches.
“They (our players) are working hard. They’re doing work in the gym, they’re doing work on the training ground.
“Confidence is a wonderful thing when you have it. When you haven’t got it then it’s a really difficult thing to fight against.
“They seem to be in a good place and they’re working really hard.
“Again, on Tuesday their numbers were higher than in any other time in the season so they’re putting the effort in.
“If you put the effort in then nine times out of ten you’ll get the rewards.”
