Craig Halkett has revealed his determination to get back fit as quickly as possible in order to boost the Jambos’ league and cup campaign.
The defender faced six weeks on the sidelines due to injury, which would’ve meant missing even more crucial games as the season builds up to its climax.
However, he targeted a faster return and put in the hard yards to make sure he could be part of the men in maroon’s quest for European football and cup glory.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Craig said: “Initially, when we got the scan it came back as a grade-two tear so I kind of feared the worst at that point.
“It was a vague timeframe of four to six weeks but myself and the physios have always been aiming more towards four weeks, which it was two days ago. I’m glad to get back.
“That was one of the things that was always in the back of my head, that I never wanted to be out for too long. It’s a really important part of the season just now, with 11 games left and the Scottish Cup as well.
“My focus was always just working as hard as I could in the gym and getting back to full fitness to try and help the squad.
“I’ve been back in and back running for a couple of weeks now and trained with the squad the other day there. I’m as fit as can be.”
