Marcus Godinho has been included in Canada’s final CONCACAF Gold Cup squad.
The 21-year-old was named in the original 40-man provisional squad and last night made the cut after head coach John Herdman whittled the squad down to 23, meaning the Jambos defender will head to his first major international tournament.
Marcus, who has one full Canada cap to his name, is joined in the tournament squad by fellow Ladbrokes Premiership star Scott Arfield of Rangers.
The 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup takes place between June 15 – July 7 in the United States, Costa Rica and Jamaica.
Canada kick off their Group A campaign against Martinique in Los Angeles on June 15th.
They face Mexico four days later in Denver before taking on Cuba in the final group game in Charlotte on June 23.
The top two teams from each of the four groups advance through to the competition’s quarter-finals.
The final takes place on July 7 at Soldier Field in Chicago.
