Hearts have this week taken a further step in the roll out of the club's Global Youth Partnership Programme by linking up with two key representatives.
Mark Botterill will represent Hearts as a Global Ambassador and Mac McCallum as a US scout.
Mark is based in California and brings a deep knowledge and experience of the US youth soccer market. His experience in youth football is well regarded and he has previously undertaken advisory roles for both UEFA and the FA. Mark will work to increase brand awareness and revenue streams for Hearts in this lucrative market.
Mac is a USSF A licenced coach and has coached in the US for 20 years. Mac is based in Texas and will travel across the US to scout for both male and female players at Partner clubs and beyond.
Mark and Mac have already formed a strong relationship with the club having visited Tynecastle Park and the Oriam Performance Centre on numerous occasions during the developmental stages of the Youth Partner Programme and the inaugural Heart of Midlothian Football Club Invitational.
The inaugural Hearts invitational takes place between the 8 and 10th of April 2019 and will feature the four USA Olympic Development Teams (East Region, West Region, South Region, and Mid-West Region) and Belarusian outfit Dynamo Brest as the international participants. The UK line up is equally impressive with hosts Heart of Midlothian welcoming Aberdeen, Arsenal, Celtic, Hibernian, Rangers, and Liverpool to the tournament at Oriam.
The 2005 age group teams will play a minimum of four 60-minute games each, enabling the young Jambos to test their skills against some of the brightest talents from around the globe.
