Gallacher: An honour to be here

19th July 2014

New goalkeeper Scott Gallacher insists it's a privilege to be part of the Hearts revival.

New signing Scott Gallacher has revealed that he can't wait to get started at Hearts and challenge for the No. 1 jersey.

The 25-year-old put pen to paper yesterday to link up with the Jambos for two years, and the former Rangers man wasted no time in stating his objectives for his Tynecastle stint.

Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Scott said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be here. Hearts is a big club and to be part of something special that's going on here, it's an honour.

"I obviously know Neil Alexander very well from my time at Rangers. He was great with me there and really helped to progress my game as I was still a young lad.

"But I'm definitely here to challenge him and push him all the way for a starting slot. If I get it, then I hope that I can hold onto it for a long time.

"I've been to Tynecastle before with Rangers and it's a fantastic place. The fans are brilliant and make lots of noise, so I'm looking forward to playing in front of them.

"It's a tough start we've been handed, but I'm sure we'll go into it giving our all and look to take full points."
