Manager Gary Locke has been presented with the Doc Melvin Memorial Cup for his services to the football club.

The gaffer is the second winner of the award, following in the footsteps of former club physiotherapist Alan Rae, who lifted the trophy 12 months ago.

"It is a fantastic honour," said the boss, "especially following in the footsteps of Alan Rae who was such a great servant to the club.

"I am living the dream as manager of Heart of Midlothian FC, having also been a player and coach.

"The season has been a tough one and I'm delighted to get the recognition for the job I've done."

Dewar Melvin was the club doctor for 32 years before his retiral in February 2012.

Following his death in December of that year, his family was keen to have a trophy commissioned in his name which would be presented annually to a deserving individual.
