Krystian Nowak has revealed that he sought guidance from former Jambo Blazej Augustyn before joining Hearts.
The Polish centre-half spoke to his fellow countryman prior to penning a two-year deal at Tynecastle and received nothing but glowing reports.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, Krystian said: “When I came over here I spoke with Blazej. He played here last year and he told me about the club, only good things about Hearts supporters and about the city.
“So when I took a chance to come here for trials, I wanted to come here.”
Krystian was named amongst the substitutes in the midweek Betfred Cup match at St Johnstone, and he insists he’ll be fighting fit if called upon for Saturday’s Ladbrokes Premiership game against Aberdeen.
“I’ve been training with the team for two or three weeks and I’m ready,” he said. “I’ve been training hard and I’ll wait for a chance.
“I’m ready. I watched the last two games and we played very good in the matches. When the coach says I’m ready then I can play.”
