Club update: Upcoming fixtures

22nd December 2021

As per the SPFL statement released this evening, Hearts’ cinch Premiership fixture against Ross County on Boxing Day will go ahead as scheduled whilst the respective fixtures against St Johnstone and Hibs will be postponed.

The postponed match against St Johnstone will now be played on Tuesday 18th January at 7.45pm whilst the Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road will kick-off at 7.45pm on Tuesday 1st February.

We appreciate that there are a number of uncertainties relating to the ongoing COVID restrictions, however, the Club took the decision to vote in favour of bringing the winter break forward in order to give supporters the best possible opportunity to attend the re-scheduled fixtures.

With regards to the Boxing Day game vs Ross County at Tynecastle, the new Scottish Government regulations limit us to a crowd of no more than 500 supporters.

In the interest of fairness and to ensure the integrity of a balloting process we have taken the difficult decision not to run a ballot for the game on Boxing Day. The logistics involved with running an opt-in ballot process for 500 seats for 14,000 season ticket holders, whilst ensuring the weighting is applied for those who did not gain entry to the Celtic game at the start of the season, do not lend themselves well to the timescales given.

The Club will instead focus on ensuring that all season ticket holders who do not already have them receive their login details to allow them to live stream the game from home. We will also explore and prepare for the various scenarios for when fixtures return.

Supporters who have purchased match tickets for the Ross County fixture are asked to contact the Hearts Ticket Office by email in order to arrange a refund:
