Last night, five youth players signed their first professional contracts with Heart of Midlothian.
Celebrating their achievement at the Youth to Pro Dinner, the quintet’s landmark will see them step up to full-time football for the first time.
Leon Watson, Jay Charleston-King, Arron Darge, and Ryan Schiavone all signed on the dotted line at Tynecastle Park, with Sean Docherty officially signing his contract in September when he turns 16.
It is the third year running that Hearts have celebrated the influx of new young professionals, with previous graduates including Harry Cochrane, Anthony McDonald, Connor Smith and Aaron Hickey.
Harry has already gone on to make 30 appearances for the first team whilst Anthony enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Inverness Caledonian Thistle during the second-half of last season.
Aaron developed hugely in his first year at the club and started the 2019 Scottish Cup Final, while Connor made his full debut in the final Edinburgh Derby of the 18-19 season.
Leon, Jay, Arron, Ryan and Sean have already made their mark on John Rankin’s under-18 side as they all featured prominently throughout the last season.
Left-back Leon, centre-back Arron and forwards Ryan and Jay have already gained caps for Scotland’s under-16 squad, with Leon playing as recently as March 2019.
