Head coach Robbie Neilson has revealed that Scott Gallacher will be given every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of tomorrow's big Edinburgh derby kick-off.
The 25-year-old twisted his ankle in training yesterday and with Neil Alexander ruled out for four weeks, following a broken cheekbone sustained in last week's win over Rangers, Robbie is hopeful Scott will turn out this weekend against Hibs.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Robbie said: "We had the boys back in training today in order to finalise preparations for the Hibs game tomorrow.
"Scott wasn't involved and he'll get a fitness test tomorrow morning to see where he stands, in terms of playing in the match.
"I'm still very hopeful that he'll be involved."
Meanwhile new signing and fellow goalkeeper Lee Hollis trained with his Tynecastle teammates today for the first time and Robbie insists that getting another 'keeper onboard was imperative following Alexander's injury.
"We felt it was necessary to bring someone in after Neil took a sore one at Ibrox.
"Lee met the boys today and trained with them. He's a good goalkeeper and he'll do well here.
"Jack Hamilton has returned from his loan spell at Stenhousemuir and I've no qualms about throwing Lee into action if required."
