For the third year, Tynecastle Park will be hosting a free Christmas Day lunch for those most in need.
Hearts will once again open the doors of the Main Stand to facilitate the event and help Big Hearts Community Trust provide good food and company to local people who would otherwise spend Christmas alone, and older people & families in crisis who could benefit from some festive cheer. Advance registration is essential and should be made by Friday 20 December by emailing email@example.com
Since 2017 Big Hearts, the charity of the Club has been delivering an extended support over the festive period to ensure adults and children facing isolation and food poverty at this time of the year get the help they need. This year’s Christmas Day Lunch will run as part of the SPFL Trust ‘Festive Friends’ initiative and the city-wide ‘Edinburgh Cheer’ campaign.
Ann Budge, Heart of Midlothian FC CEO and Chairwoman, and Big Hearts Trustee said:
“On 25th December, Heart of Midlothian Football Club is, once again, happy to offer a free festive meal for individuals and families whose circumstances may mean they are left feeling isolated or vulnerable on Christmas Day. This is our third year of participating in the ‘Edinburgh Cheer' programme along with other key organisations across the city. We look forward to opening up Tynecastle Park to spread some kindness to those most in need during the festive season.”
Lead partner Tesco Edinburgh will donate all the ingredients to cook the festive meal, whilst Central Taxis will help transporting guests to and from the Stadium. Big Hearts is running an appeal to provide families with tailored gifts to take home. Any donations are welcome at https://bighearts.charitycheckout.co.uk/cf/christmas-day
