Ryan Edwards wants to match the high ambitions of the fans after becoming Hearts' latest recruit.
The Australian, known for his all-action performances, became the Jambos’ eighth signing of the summer after penning a two-year deal today.
No stranger to Tynecastle, the former Partick Thistle man knows all about the demands of the Gorgie crowd, and hopes it will spur him and his new teammates on to challenge for cups and Europe.
Speaking to HeartsTV, Ryan said: “The fans here are incredible. Being in the stand as a fan watching and obviously being in the opposition is really intimidating.
“As the opposition you want to try and upset the crowd and you know that the fans here set such high standards for everyone at the club, and I want to be part of that and try and match the ambitions of the fans and the club.
“One massive reason I came to the club is the ambition of everyone here and I want to play my part for the team and the fans to try and be successful.
“I’ve sat down one-on-one with the manager and had a good chat about what he expects of me and the team going forward.
“The ambition is there on a personal level to be in a team that’s gong to challenge for cups, challenge at the top end of the table, try and get into Europe next season and that’s something that I really want to help achieve.”
