Big Hearts Community Trust will meet Hibernian Community Foundation for a fundraising football game on Sunday 10th October, to mark World Mental Health Day.
It’s the first time that both charitable arms of the Edinburgh Premiership football clubs will come together on the same pitch to raise awareness around wellbeing & mental health.
This family-friendly game will kick off on Sunday 10 October at 4pm at Ainslie Park, home of Spartans FC. We are thrilled to announce that Hearts’ Legends & Scottish Cup Winners Gary Locke and Andy Webster will be leading the Big Hearts’ team on the day!
Locke said:” As Club ambassador, I get the chance to witness the brilliant community work that Big Hearts do behind the scenes at Tynecastle Park. It’s an honour to be leading the Big Hearts team at their first-ever Charity Derby this coming Sunday afternoon.
World Mental Health Day is one of these occasions where it’s worth putting the usual football banter aside to come together and raise awareness because everyone has mental health whatever football team you support. I hope many Jambos will come to watch the game to see our Hearts’ Legends in action whilst raising much-needed funds for charity.”
Tickets for this one-of-a-kind fundraiser are now on sale. All proceeds will go to fund our community projects across Edinburgh. A single entry ticket is priced at £5, or £2 for concessions, and discounted family ticket is at £10.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Every year, the 10th of October is a reminder that 1 in 3 people will experience mental health issues at some point in their life. We are delighted to be joining efforts with the Hibernian FC charity on this special occasion, using the reach of football to share information on support services available across the city.
This friendly Edinburgh derby is supported by our joint charity partner Utilita Energy. Keep your eyes peeled for further event details, including opportunities for supporters to get involved and support their team on the day!
