Former Holland U21 international Género Zeefuik has signed for Hearts on loan until the end of the season.
Head coach Robbie Neilson has been scouring the market in a bid to bolster his striking options and has moved quickly to snap up the 24-year-old from FC Groningen in the Eredivisie.
The powerfully-built forward arrives in Gorgie with an impressive pedigree, being a graduate from the renowned Ajax academy.
He joined PSV Eindhoven in 2006, making his debut at the age of 16, before joining Groningen in 2012 for a fee in the region of £500,000. He has played 47 times for the Dutch aces, netting nine times.
As a member of the Dutch U21 squad, Género featured alongside the likes of Celtic star Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United defender Daley Blind, netting eight times in a European Championship qualifying campaign which also involved Scotland.
Subject to international clearance being gained, Género will go straight into the Jambos’ squad for Saturday’s Championship clash at Dumbarton as the league leaders attempt to consolidate their position at the top of the table.
