Hearts secured a point on the road, drawing 1-1 with Dundee this afternoon.
The Jambos took an early lead through Ross Callachan but the Dens side struck back in the first half, courtesy of Sofien Moussa.
Craig Levein made one change from the side that defeated Partick Thistle before the international break; Callachan replaced the injured Michael Smith.
It took only three minutes for the Jambos to break the deadlock. Some patient buildup play saw the ball out right with Marcus Godinho, and he fed it into Callachan inside the box, and the midfielder turned his man inside out before curling a wonderful left-foot shot around Elliott Parish and into the corner of the net.
Dundee went close to equalising almost instantly. Glen Kamara burst through the centre of the park before slipping Simon Murray clean through, but Jon McLaughlin was quick off his line to make a smart block.
A quick-thinking corner on 14 minutes saw Don Cowie play a one-two with Steven Naismith, before lashing an effort on target that Parish did well to parry away.
Another well-worked Hearts move saw them nearly double their advantage after 27 minutes. Godinho’s ball into the box was dummied by Naismith into the path of Kyle Lafferty, but his first-time shot was beaten away by Parish.
Dundee then went up the park and equalised. Kamara floated a ball to the back door for the unmarked Moussa to knee home into the back of the net.
Godinho was finding lots of space down the right and in the 35th minute played a neat ball into the box for Cowie, but from an angle he could only fire into the side netting.
The home side went close to taking the lead on the hour mark. Jon Aurtenetxe’s corner was met by Steven Caulker, whose header was nodded goalwards by Mark O’Hara but Naismith popped up to clear the ball on the line before Callachan put in a great last-ditch tackle to deny Moussa’s goal-bound shot.
Naismith looked to have over hit a 70th minute ball but Aurtenexe’s slip allowed Godinho to knock it back to Callachan, and his low drive from 18-yards was saved by Parish at his near post.
Both teams pushed for the winner as the game headed towards the closing stages. Rorie Deacon weaved his way through the Hearts defence in the 78th minute before hitting a snapshot that McLaughlin turned around his post.
Deacon created another chance for himself four minutes later, running across the Hearts box before smashing an effort straight at McLaughlin.
The hosts piled on the pressure in the closing stages, with Paul McGowan curling a shot inches over the bar, but the Jambos stood firm to secure a point.
