Callum Paterson believes Hearts’ William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round victory over Aberdeen will help kick-start the second half of their season.
The right back’s early goal proved decisive in an entertaining match under the Tynecastle floodlights as the Jambos ran out 1-0 winners against the Dons.
Having lost their two previous games to the Pittodrie side this season, Callum was delighted to help secure a hard-fought victory. Speaking to the press after the match, he said:
“We’re going to use this win as a platform to build on. It’s a massive boost for us as they’re a good team.
"They turned us over in the previous games so we didn’t want that to happen again. We got in their faces today and it worked out well for us.
“We’ve shown everyone what standard we can play at today. It’s good to see the fans getting excited, but we’re all level headed in the changing room and we’ll just keep on progressing.”
