Robbie Neilson is hoping last Saturday’s convincing performance against Aberdeen will act as a benchmark for the rest of the season, starting with tomorrow’s visit of Motherwell.
The Head Coach was delighted with his team’s recent display against the Dons and insists his players are determined to build on their performance on Saturday. Speaking to Hearts TV on Friday morning, Robbie said:
“The boys are in good spirits after Saturday’s win. We were in again first thing on Sunday to watch the video and they were all really pleased with how they performed. Hopefully we can use that performance as benchmark for the rest of the season.”
Robbie is bracing himself for a tough test against The Steelmen, however. Mark McGhee’s side haven’t lost a game since the two teams last met back in November.
“They’re a totally different team from the one we faced at Tynecastle in August. Mark has come in and changed their style a bit and they’ve got some players back from injury, which has boosted them.
“It’ll be a tough game and you could argue we’ll be up against the in-form team in Scotland at the moment.”
Hearts will have Morgaro Gomis back following his suspension against Aberdeen, whilst Jamie Walker will resume training next week.
