“I was really surprised by how quickly I was able to settle in as everything went so fast. That’s why I’m happy because it went in a good way and that’s why I’m very happy to be here and sign a longer contract and be in this good club.”

With three goals to his name so far, the 26-year-old is loving life in Gorgie. He intends to keep on sticking the ball in the back of net, so he can hear the fans sing his name.

“When I was in Holland I scored goals as well,” he said. “Last year, because it was a difficult year for me, I didn’t score. Here I can score goals. Three goals so fast…I don’t know if that’s ever happened to me. I will try to keep it like this.

“It’s important to score goals and you can see the reaction from the fans, they are very happy when you score goals. I think they have a song and everything!”
