Robbie Neilson has bolstered his squad with the addition of Arnaud Djoum, who joins the club on a deal until January - subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old Belgian midfielder has spent the last week training with the Hearts team, having been a free agent since departing Polish side Lech Poznan in the summer.
Arnaud’s previous clubs include Dutch outfit Roda JC, where he made a total of 123 appearances during a five-year spell, and more recently Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Robbie said: “I’m pleased to get Arnaud in. He’s came in and he’s a good player with a good pedigree. He fitted in well with the group and he’ll be a great asset to us.
“He’s on a deal until January so we can take a look at him and then see about extending it further, but I’m pleased to get him in the door.
“He’s got power. He’s a good football player. He played in Belgium, Holland, Turkey and the top team in the top league in Poland so he’s got great experience. He’s got a lot of drive in midfield and energy, which is something that we need.”
