Belgian midfielder pens contract extension which will keep him at Tynecastle until May 2019.

Arnaud Djoum has signed a contract extension which will keep him at Hearts until May 2019.

The Belgian midfielder joined the club in September last year and quickly established himself as a key member of the squad.

The 27-year-old has made 36 competitive appearances in a maroon jersey to date, scoring 7 goals in the process.

Speaking to, Head Coach Robbie Neilson expressed his delight at Arnaud’s decision to commit his long-term future to the Jambos.

“Arnaud has been immense for us since joining last season. His quality is there for all to see and I’m really pleased to tie him down until 2019.

“We were lucky to get him in the first place, to be honest. He’s a real talent with great technique and vision.

“He’s also proved himself to be a proper team player, with an eye for goal thrown into the mix.

"I’m convinced the best is yet to come from him and can’t wait to see him in action this season.”
