Craig's disappointment for Djoum

Craig Levein confirms Arnaud Djoum will miss next seven to eight months after snapping his achilles tendon.

Craig Levein has confirmed that Arnaud Djoum faces seven to eight months out after snapping his Achilles tendon in today’s 1-1 draw with Ross County.

The Cameroon internationalist crumpled to the turf in the first half and had to be stretchered off. After being examined by the club’s medical staff the lenghty lay off was confirmed, and Arnaud now faces a long spell on the sidelines.

Manager Craig revealed he was naturally disappointed not to come away with three points, but insists the injury to Arnaud was an even bigger blow.

He’s a really important player for us and was just getting back to his best. Dropping two points is something that happens occasionally but this is probably more disappointing than that, the fact that we will be without him for the remainder of this season and the start of next season.

“I’m disappointed,” he said. “I’m doubly disappointed that Arnaud has snapped his Achilles tendon.

“He’ll be out for seven or eight months unfortunately, He’s had a terrible time of it.

“For some reason we’ve had two cruciates this year, two Achilles tendons…it’s been unusual but these things do happen.
