Craig Levein knows Partick Thistle will pose his side a tough Scottish Cup test but he insists the Jambos will be ready when the time comes.
Gary Caldwell’s Jags stand between Hearts and a second cup semi-final of the season after the two teams were paired together in last night’s quarter-final draw.
Currently bottom of the Championship, Thistle are on a good run of form, going six matches unbeaten, of which they have won the last four.
The sixth-round tie takes place at Firhill on the weekend of March 2nd, and although the manager will have his team raring to go, he says the Scottish Cup must go to the back of everybody’s minds form the time being because there are some crucial Premiership game on the horizon.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Craig said: “A home tie at this stage would’ve been preferable but all things considered I’m pleased with the draw.
“Every team in the quarter-finals is there on merit and Partick Thistle are no different.
“They are on a really good run at the moment so we’re under no illusions about just how difficult a game this will be.
“We’ve got important league games coming up so they will take priority for the time being, but when the cup comes back around we will be ready as we bid to make a second semi-final this season.”
